MAY 27, 2015, Crystal City Sports Pub 1st Annual Legends of Baseball Meet & Greet in partnership with ProView Event #92, featuring ex-pro Senators: Frank Howard, Jim Coates, Fred Valentine, Ron Hansen, and Hank Allen. Event highlights included autographed memorabilia, raffle, auction and a chance to mingle with with the pros!

DDF ALL-STARS AFTERSCHOOL OPENS 5th SITE!
NOVEMBER 3, 2014 DDF ALL-STARS Afterschool opens at Harry Thomas Sr. Recreation Center. Our program provides services to 140 DC children. The other four sites include: Columbia Heights Recreation Center, Deanwood Recreation Center, Ferebee-Hope Recreation Center and Rosedale Recreation Center. OCTOBER 31, 2014 Contest & prizes! Fun for all at Rosebar Lounge. Plus, DDF ALL-STARS sponsors Halloween parties at all 5 Afterschool sites: Columbia Heights Rec, Harry Thomas Rec, Deanwood Rec, Rosedale Rec and Ferebee-Hope Rec -- teaching kids about healthy and active living. CONGRATS DDF!
SEPTEMBER, 2014 DDF is the proud recipient of a grant earmarked to launch an afterschool program in Washington, D.C. this fall. This is a dream come true. We couldn't be more thrilled! The 5K Fun Run is postponed as DDF gets underway in developing its ALL-STARS Afterschool centers.

Fourth Annual Senators / Satchel Paige Little League
More than 50 children from pre-school to middle school experienced the "magic" of baseball with professional instruction from Fred Valentine, Al Bumbry and Bill Swaggerty, plus many others. Mayor Vincent C. Gray conducted the post-game ceremonies, acknowledging the growth of youth baseball in all corners of the city during the last four years of efforts like these. We extend a hearty welcome to all of our dedicated volunteers and community partners for helping to make dreams come true. For photos, please go to our Gallery page. |
